This company has scammed us out of over $200 for a "In-depth inspection" on our heating system. This was months ago but we were using this company for servicing our A/C and heating unit for about a year and a new technician had thought he found a crack in our heating unit. This was a new unit and so we wanted to make sure we were safe even though a crack was unexpected. He showed us a picture of a line that did not seem like a crack but he said he spoke with the manager and they both thought it was a crack. They told us we needed to get a more indepth inspection to make sure as this can be very dangerous. So we paid over $200 to get this in depth inspection by another employee which took him about 15 mins to open our unit and to tell us that nothing was wrong with it. He said our unit looks new and the "crack" is a normal line and build for our newer unit. He said that they previous employee probably did not know what he was looking at since its a newer unit. So i paid over $200 just because their employee and manager did not know what they were looking at? The lack of experience costed me over $200. I brought this up to the manager and she said wanted to make sure for the "safety of our family." I am not sure if we got absolutely scammed or they lack the experience which costed us unnecessary money. The manager gave us a credit of like $35 to make us feel better.Avoid this company especially if you are not knowledgeable of your A/C and Heating units. They can take advantage of you. I want to make sure there is awareness of what they are doing.
From Treacy to Jay to all of their team, we have had nothing but excellent quality work and service from Empire. Our old system was a maintenance nightmare, and expensive to fix. With our Empire systems, we finally have the heating and air conditioning we're happy with. Thanks guys!
Hard to believe it is 2026 now. We have been getting outstanding service from these guys/and gals all the way back to 2017. Back then, they were Viking Mechanical, then it was Empire Heating and Air and now they are the Mize Guys (Mize Family owned business). That is all the more reason to support them!!!During this period of time, we have had every 6 mth service (Spring A/C and Fall Heating) on the original 2006 system that was built into our home (NO, Mize did not install the original system and we could not wait to get rid of the original contractor either). Mize was our first and only choice for the new HVAC replacement system install.Tremendous cost savings on the units so we joined their "Wisest" Protection Plan which gets you (2) two scheduled visits a year, a 15% discount on all repairs, pre-season scheduling, replacement filters, and most important, Priority Service 24/7.To top it all off, Connor is their son and did a tremendous job with our install in Jan 2025 and now with our service every 6 months. In fact, Connor was just here last week.
Quickly diagnosed the problem, thoroughly explained the solution, provided cost, and arranged repair. The necessary repair was made quickly and professionally.
I was able to get an appointment quickly to repair my heating system. Nick was professional, knowledgeable and very customer-service oriented. He walked me through each step he was taking and was able to diagnose and fix the issue quickly. I will be calling Mize Guys and requesting Nick for all my future HVAC-related work.
Very responsive company with great representatives. Coral made the appt to meet my needs and was super helpful. Tech Nick arrived within the time window provided and quickly diagnosed the heater problem with professional ease. From inception phone call to diagnostic visit the service was the best. I will definitely have Mize Guys perform maintenance and other recommended preventative services. Couldn't be happier with this service that exceeded my expectations.
I called 10 companies that supposedly offered "Emergency Service" 24/7 and none of them could come on Sunday. I called Mize and talked to Conner and he was here less than an hour later. And less than an hour later my furnace was working again.
These folks are first class. Absolutely everything was wonderful…from my cold call with Coral (the phone rep), to the bid, to the install, to the follow up. I would 100% recommend Mize.

Never! will you need to worry or be suspicious. “Now isn’t that just how it’s supposed to be?”UPDATE PER Our most recent bimonthly inspection: Referencing Christian & Nick; These “Guys”, are “sooo” professional, and so sincerely friendly and accommodating, for us having gained two new friends that all there is left to say is the following: 1). 100% satisfied (cost, quality-workmanship, speed of completion, educating using understandable explanations, no salesmanship pressure!, and they demonstrate a sensitivity to home surroundings protecting it against the work environment). 2). Just use them and see for yourself. You’ll agree with above.
I called Mize Guys and the really friendly Corral sent a guy out within 2 hours. LP was nice, friendly and efficient. He diagnosed and fixed my issue quickly and explained the cost beforehand.
Had Mize guys come out to look at my A/C unit and there service tech did a great job explaining and diagnosing what was going on with my system he was very up front and honest ! He explained what it could need in the future without trying to sell me on somthing i didn’t need at this time in the end it was a simple issue that was resolved through his thourogh diagnostic procedures! I will have them back for any future HVAC needs
Went to Mize Guys since they bought out Empire Mechanical. Had great experiences with Empire, cannot say enough.Recently had Mize out when our AC stopped working and they wanted $1,300 to replace breakers and update electrical insisting nothing was wrong with the unit. Got a second opinion that found a leak in the coolant line and cleaned a connector, unit fired right up and cost less than $200.Recommend shopping around.

called and asked to a tune up on our old AC unit and ended up paying $240 for the tech to turn the system on and tell me it’s working and it’s old. brought it up and was ignored and never followed up with
I can’t recommend The Mize Guys strongly enough. They installed a new wine cooling system over two and a half years ago which stopped working recently. Although it was definitely far out of warranty, they stood by their work, persuaded the equipment supplier to replace the failed component, out of warranty, and got the system running again for a very reasonable cost. Throughout the process all the staff were very professional and friendly.
Evan is always pleasant, competent and efficient when he comes to do the semi-annual maintenance checks. I have been very happy with Mize Guys services.

Connor was a phenomenal technician! He was able to fix my heater in the initial first visit (they were able to come within 24 hours of my call)Very kind, professional & knowledgable. Conner is deeply familiar with the design, stability and health of our system. We literally sleep better at night knowing that we can depend on him for quickly addressing any issues that arise with our system. Needless to say, living here in Auburn, where temperatures are extreme during both summer and winter, dependable indoor climate control is critical to say the least.Always on time, courteous and confident, Conner is a delight to be around.
